The Regulations are evolving significantly towards more sustainable development and a reduction in the use of packaging. Also, new designs of cosmetic products are appearing on the market, such as solid cosmetics, the use of "refill" packaging that can be used by the consumer at home or the use of recycled packaging. Cosmetic products need to be both compliant with Regulation 1223/2009 and safe for the health of the consumer. Certain regulatory alerts may be raised for these new trends, in particular in order to obtain robust Product Information Files. Case-by-case approaches may be necessary, with the implementation of a risk analysis process.
