The Cosmetic Valley competitiveness cluster opts for youth, performance and innovation.

By distinguishing, for the 3rd edition of THE COSMETIC VICTORIES competition , Vincent Gauthier, researcher and doctoral student from the University of Cergy-Pontoise and David Maleville, young entrepreneur and chemist from Toulouse, COSMETIC VALLEY gives impetus to tomorrow's creative talents!

 

Meeting in Paris on June 19, 2018 at the Bristol , the jury of the international competition organized by COSMETIC VALLEY and ESSEC singled out, among a hundred projects received from 14 countries, two winners with solutions that are both innovative and concrete for the future of French perfumery-cosmetics. The award ceremony was held in the presence of many players from the world of perfumery and cosmetics with, as masters of ceremonies, journalist Valérie EXPERT and the president of COSMETIC VALLEY, Marc-Antoine Jamet.

 

The Academic Prize , that of fundamental research and which calls upon public laboratories, was awarded to Vincent Gauthier, doctoral student at the SATIE laboratory of the University of Cergy-Pontoise, for a biosensor project allowing the monitoring of the impact of the environment on the skin, to objectify the sensory and to take a new step in the guarantee of product safety.

 

The Industrial Prize went to David Maleville for his Eclypse project, aimed at the permanent make-up and tattoo market, consisting of the creation of metal-free inks that can, "infinitely and at will" as he repeatedly repeated, to be made invisible, by the application of a depigmentation cream, then to reappear, by the application of a re-coloring cream.

 

It is to remain world leader in its sector that COSMETIC VALLEY has decided to rely on a range of tools and actions in the service of performance. Among them, the cluster has been organizing for 5 years, with innovation as its only totem - which differentiates it from other major world fairs - the international Cosmetic 360 fair, the next edition of which will take place next October 17 and 18 at the Carrousel du Louvre , distributes trophies, the Peonies, to member companies of the cluster whose progress in environmental protection has been proven and currently labels 320 research projects for an outstanding amount of €400 million. The THE COSMETIC VICTORIES competition, which has set itself the triple objective of detecting and revealing innovative start-ups, supporting their projects and promoting research and science in the field of perfumes and cosmetics, completes this system from a more scientific angle. and more academic for the academic price, more marketing and products for the industrial price.

 

Open to holders of the most modern and original cosmetic projects, this one-of-a-kind competition draws its legitimacy from a particularly demanding selection process which involves several colleges of high-level international experts and the diversity of a jury which this year brought together journalist Valérie Expert, representatives of companies, large groups, niche houses and start-ups, French and international (Nuxe, Rodan & Fields, Sisley, Coty, Amore Pacific, Buly 1803), representatives institutional partners of the cluster (Bpifrance, Ministry of Industry, CNRS), professional associations in the sector (French Society of Cosmetology, and French Society of Perfumery) around the two founding members of the Prize, COSMETIC VALLEY and ESSEC.

 

The two winning projects will benefit from a financial allocation of €10,000 each and support from the COSMETIC VALLEY cluster, which will materialize, in particular, through the support of the Cosmet'up platform, dedicated to accelerating innovative projects from the perfumery-cosmetics sector, as well as a visibility pack including national and international media coverage.
