COSMETIC VALLEY LAUNCHES THE FIRST “EMBASSY” OF THE FRENCH INDUSTRY ABROAD IN CHINA BY CREATING THE FFCE (FRENCH FRAGNANCE & COSMETICS EMBASSY)
An export operator for 30 years, COSMETIC VALLEY supports SMEs in the sector in major global market places, in close collaboration with Business France, the State, local authorities and their agencies.
Created in 2016, "Global Cosmetics Cluster", COSMETIC VALLEY shows its interest in the dynamics brought to the service of the sector on its international network, its expertise and the strength of its brand recognized across the globe. This sector dynamic, unique in the world, has made France gain in terms of exports and attractiveness with record figures in 2022 (€19.1 billion).
In a complex geopolitical context associated with economic uncertainties and growing competition on the international scene, the sector now wants to go further with the creation of national ecosystems at the heart of its strategic markets. This new action initiated by the competitiveness cluster aims to build a solid and lasting foundation to deploy our country's international influence and thus complement the actions carried out by the economic services of the diplomatic network.
The system will be launched in early 2024 in China with the establishment of an office in Shanghai in charge of structuring and managing the local ecosystem. Indeed, if China constitutes a major outlet for the French perfume and cosmetics sector with nearly €2 billion exported in 2022, its situation has however been modified by the COVID-19 health crisis. In the medium term, the creation of other “embassies” is envisaged in other high-potential markets such as the United States.
Signature partnership between Cosmetic Valley and Korea
A strategic partnership to strengthen open innovation between Korea and France in the field of cosmetics.
This trip made it possible to consolidate links and take stock of progress with our local partners: FKCCI French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Jeju technopark and IBITA International Beauty Industry Trade Association.
Seoul Beauty Week
COSMETIC VALLEY was present last week to promote Made in France at Seoul Beauty Week.
Olga Do Nikitina, President of KLYTIA PARIS, testifies: “this is the second time that we have participated in an international beauty fair in South Korea. The first participation in 2022 allowed us to estimate the size of the market and its state post-COVID. This year we were able to deepen our contacts in Korea and find potential partners to represent our brand. We have seen that French premium luxury brands, like KLYTIA, still interest the Korean consumer. We would like to thank COSMETIC VALLEY and the IBITA cosmetics association for this great opportunity to present KLYTIA in Seoul and for organizing our trip.”
Now it is the turn of K-BEAUTY to come to France since more than 20 innovative companies will be exhibiting at the COSMETIC 360 show which will be held on October 18 and 19.

As part of Cosmetic 360 Week, Canadian Cosmetic Cluster, in partnership with Cosmetic Valley, is organizing a symposium on the issues and challenges of sustainable development in the cosmetics industry in Bordeaux on October 20, 2023.
The cosmetics industry is under increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices. Although it is not late, companies in the sector still face many obstacles.

COSMETIC VALLEY AND BEAUTÉVILLE HAVE RENEWED THEIR VOWS
On July 7, 2023, COSMETIC VALLEY and the City of Chartres received the main founders of Beautéville, China's beauty hub, on the occasion of the signing of a declaration which consolidates the draft partnership agreement already signed in 2018 .
This tripartite partnership agreement (City of Chartres, COSMETIC VALLEY and BEAUTÉVILLE) facilitates cooperation between local players in the sector. It also involves helping young innovative companies in their commercial deployment in China – the main export market – and promoting France, and more particularly Chartres, as an essential territory for cosmetics.
COSMETIC VALLEY signs here a new chapter of transnational cooperation and continues its commitment to take the cosmetics industry to new heights of innovation, excellence and export success, after a health crisis which has considerably impacted the economic model and which represented a major obstacle to the implementation of this partnership with Beautéville.
This new visit testifies to China's interest in COSMETIC VALLEY, which carries the voice of the cosmetics industry on a global scale. It is a real accelerator for French SMEs and start-ups, renowned for its formidable network dynamics promoting the innovation of Made in France cosmetic products.
