COSMETIC VALLEY SUPPORTS A RESEARCH-BUSINESS COLLABORATION

CHANEL Parfums Beauté, the CNRS, the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR) and the University of Rennes inaugurated this Thursday, June 6, 2024 in Rennes a joint laboratory called “𝐈𝐂𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄” (Innovative Cosmetics for CARE) supported by the 'ANR.

COSMETIC VALLEY supported the setting up of this project and provided it with the labeling of the French cosmetics/perfumery industry.

The partners aim to innovate in the design of new generation cosmetic products by pooling their skills.

With a turnover of €71 billion, cosmetics is a flagship sector in France. 60% of French production is exported internationally. To support this appeal for French cosmetic products, it is essential to offer consumers continuous and relevant innovations, while guaranteeing product safety by taking into account scientific advances, the environmental context and current regulations.

In order to remove major technological obstacles, this research/business collaboration will engage in 2 major areas of research:

- The design of innovative processes responding to eco-design challenges in order to synthesize and produce new inorganic pigments, essential ingredients in makeup,

- The development of catalytic processes capable of producing agro-sourced waxes in order to replace synthetic waxes and paraffins of petrochemical origin.

COSMETIC VALLEY, a competitiveness cluster, allows you to discuss the various innovation issues in the perfumery - cosmetics sector and the projects to be implemented.
